About Us...
Every child and family is entitled to a happy and rewarding early years experience. Toddle In Group aims to provide an environment in which parents feel safe to leave their children and in which their children look forward to attending. Toddle In Group has been serving the community since 1995 as a playgroup and began to offer extended hours and sessions in 2003. It is Owned and Managed by Mother and Daughter, Bernadette and Kim. As a family run and orientated business we aim to offer your child the same security and stability as they would receive at home.
We are registered as a 58 place Group. Children will be given a keyperson who will pay particular attention to your needs as a family, trying to ensure that life at nursery resembles life at home. We respect parents as the first educators of their young children. The aim of the Group is to support your essential work not to supplant it.
We balance educational experiences and fun, with careful planning and monitoring. Your child’s key-person will extend and develop your child’s learning and play and you will have a wonderful learning journey folder to take with you when your child leaves for school. We pride ourselves on our community atmosphere, and aim to include our families as much as we can.
Our staff are trained to provide the highest quality care for your child. We offer trained and experienced carer’s with a variety of additional and specialist training. Through a carefully planned induction programme, we the proprietors are able to ensure that all staff are aware of, and work towards the high standards and ethos of the Group. We have very high staff retention, with our Manager having been with us for 20 years now! We keep our team fresh and up to date with training, and research, and support those trying to get into the field as students.
The Group is open 51 weeks a year and offers flexible attendance schedules. The day runs between 7.30am and 6pm, five days a week.
Throughout the day the children are offered a variety of learning and play experiences, both planned and spontaneous. Within a safe and stimulating environment children are encouraged to choose their activities during free play, thus developing their independence and self-esteem.
We love what we do, and we’re sure it shows! We look forward to working in partnership with you in the future!

Inside our Nursery
Within our nursery we have three playrooms, our playrooms are designed to meet the needs of children within the same age and stages of development. Our Bunny room caters for children under the age of 2, our Squirrel room is designed for children aged 2 years and over.

Our Ladybird room is a playgroup for children aged 2 and over.
We provide a range of equipment for the children to access independently, and much more is stored for the adult’s to access.
Our secure garden is a very large L shape. To the front we have a large grassed area, shaded by trees. To the side we have a large playhouse, double UV canopy covering an all weather play surface. We have plants and vegetables growing that the children help care for in addition to their allotment.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day in our kitchen.
Our entrance hall has lots of information for Parents and Carers including our menu’s and current newsletter. You can store your child’s bags and coats and pop items in their personal drawers for their keyperson, or ready for hometime.
The Bunny Room
The bunny room caters for children from the ages of 12 months to 24 months. The room is designed for fun and exploration offering fantastic opportunities of discovery and new experiences whilst in a safe and homely environment. Babies and toddlers learn using all their senses so the aim for our activities is to introduce as many sensory experiences as possible including messy play, body painting and corn flour mixing. The staff provide a language rich environment providing lots of repetition of new vocab through activities, stories and songs.
The Ladybird Room
The ladybird room is a playgroup which caters for children aged between 2 and 4 years old on a funded basis for 38 weeks a year. There are two sessions from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. The room is a fun and full of exploratory play and is designed to create a calm and enjoyable learning space. We have provided more space to enable the children to move more freely to access the activities which are designed to introduce new language and promote effective language.
The Squirrel Room
The squirrel room caters for children aged from 2 years old until 5 years old. The room is a fun, lively learning environment. Although we learn through play, the children will be working towards the 7 areas of learning as well as working towards the many early years outcomes. Such as recognising and writing their name, recognising, counting and writing numbers, shapes and colours as well as developing more complex language and sentences and working with the phonics program.
